Galaxy Cluster: The picture below is of the REAL universe- actually, just a tiny small segment of the universe. This one small sliver of our nighttime sky, which to the naked eye appears to be but empty space, when exposed to hours of photographic exposure from the orbiting Hubble Telescope, reveals HUNDREDS of separate galaxies, each containing on average 100 BILLION stars. Just from this one photo itself, it should be obvious to the thinking mind that the REAL universe is WAY too big for any petty desert deity to claim credit for. The god of the Bible is more comfortable sitting on his throne which rests on the dome which rests on the flat earth which itself rests on four pillars.
Tower of Babel: Tell me this, Creationists: which picture of the universe fits in better with the "Tower of Babel" story. In that story, petty Earthlings are building a tower sooooo high that (according to the Bible) they are in danger of reaching heaven itself. To prevent this invasion of heaven, the Biblegods had to confuse the language of the mortals. So tell me this, which universe fits in better with that Bible story: the Bible story of a dome just a short distance above the surface of the earth ---OR--- the REAL universe which is so vast it would never be threatened by any tower built by mankind??? Take a look below at the REAL universe, picture the absurdity of a building so tall that it could reach to ANY of the galaxies shown, then honestly ask yourself that if there WERE an actual god more vast than all of this, would he really feel threatened from creatures on one piss-ant planet constructing a tall building??? Your Biblegod was.
"He hangeth the Earth upon nothing" Alot of Biblethumpers will point out this verse in the Old Testament and exclaim "See! Modern astronomy- that proves Biblegod is real!" Let me say this about that: First of all, since when is GRAVITY "nothing"??? The Earth is "hanging" (i.e. restrained) by this VERY strong force called gravity which is NOT "nothing". If anyone should think it IS nothing, let him stand under a piano falling from a 10 story building. Secondly, the Earth is NOT just "hanging" around- it is hurtling at a fantastic clip around the Sun, the Sun and its Solar System around the center of the Milky Way galaxy, and the entire galaxy is traveling, again at a LARGE velocity, away from the location of the Big Bang. That is hardly just "hanging" around. So to say "he hangeth the earth upon nothing" is some big advanced astronomical truth is just plain ignorant.
