Hi again
Mark,
Your article, "Give To Him That Asks" is a ripper. Any gullible
Atheist would fall for it. It really is terrific. You only quote
half the verse
Mark Smith here} Of course,
Christians believing their magic book contains magic voo-doo words, they would
prefer I quote the entire goddamn Bible "to get it in context" in
the hopes that the "magic" words would "do their stuff".
The fact is, the part I didn't include does not change the meaning one bit,
therefore does not constitute "taking it out of context" and also
notice that Nev makes an implication, but of course, doesn't bother to back up
his implication that it's out of context.
so that
the atheists reading your article will get sucked in nicely, because most of
them probably won't have a Bible handy to check that what you're saying is true.
Not that they would want to anyway... I mean to say... Mark Smith lead us
astray? Perish the thought!
Matthew 5:42 is talking of 'borrowing' as would have been evident had you quoted
the entire verse.
Mark Smith here} Once again, Christians think
that somehow SAYING something makes that something true, that they can, like
their Biblegod, speak things into existence. The ENTIRE verse reads thusly:
"Give to him who asks of you, AND
do not turn away from him who wants to borrow from you." (Jesus,
Matthew 5:42 New American Standard Version)
Notice this is a two-part command. Christians are to
give to anyone who asks them, AND they are to loan to whoever wants to borrow
from them. The first part involves a person asking outright for something-
he's not asking to "borrow" he's asking to have. The second part is
a person asking to borrow- i.e. with the intention of returning. Maybe if Nev
himself had read the whole verse, he'd have seen this???
That's
why I think your article is so good, because once the Christian has given the
Atheist want he has asked for, he can reap a nice profit in interest when the
Atheist has to pay it back.
No free thinking person is going to fall for what you write in this article. For
a start, any smart person is going to ask themselves, "Why in heaven's name
would Jesus tell people to simply give everything they have to anyone who
asks?" It makes no sense whatsoever,
Mark Smith here} "It makes no sense
whatsoever"??? How long has Nev been reading the Bible and this is the
FIRST item he's noticed that "makes no sense whatsoever"??? Besides,
since when does "make sense" have anything to do with
Christianity??? The question for a good little Christian should NOT be does
the order make sense, but how to obey the order. When JeJuice orders
"Jump!" the only proper response for these religious robots should
be "How high?", and not whether it makes sense.
unless of
course you have a fanatical bias that drives you to want to accept it because
you have an irrational hate for him and everyone who follows him.
Regards
